About Us

Kiraku Asset Management was established in 2013 as HJ Asset Management and provides investment and asset management services across a broad range of real estate asset classes, with a primary focus on hotels, as well as offices and residential properties. We are entrusted by institutional investors, overseas family offices, and other Professional Investors to provide integrated services across the entire investment lifecycle, from investment planning, structuring, and acquisition through asset management and disposition. In 2026, the company became part of the Kiraku Group, expanding its investment focus to include development and revitalization projects, new opportunities in the hospitality sector, and investments in regional areas across Japan.

Members

Representative Director: Scott ChungScott oversees investment origination, structuring, and asset management across Japan and the Asia-Pacific region for real estate investments spanning a broad range of asset classes. His experience in Japan includes more than a decade at Goldman Sachs, followed by his most recent role as Head of Japan and APAC Asset Management at Heitman. He has served as Representative Director of Kiraku Asset Management since 2023.
Managing Director: Yuki UchidaYuki oversees all asset management activities for Kiraku Asset Management. With more than 17 years of experience in real estate investment across Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, she has worked across a wide range of asset classes, including residential, office, retail, industrial, self-storage, and hotels. Her experience includes roles at Goldman Sachs, CapitaLand, and Heitman, where she led direct real estate investments and managed a pan-Asia fund.
Director: Kou William SundbergKou is the Founder and CEO of Kiraku, Inc., the parent company of Kiraku Asset Management, where he oversees business planning, acquisitions, asset management, and technology solutions for hospitality development and turnaround projects across the Kiraku Group. Prior to founding Kiraku, he was at Fortress Investment Group, where he was involved in the evaluation of distressed debt acquisitions, tender offers, M&A transactions, and business turnarounds involving financial institutions, hotels, and ryokans in Japan. He has served as Director of Kiraku Asset Management since 2026.
Director: Masa KomatsuMasa is the COO of Kiraku, Inc., the parent company of Kiraku Asset Management, where he oversees operations across the Kiraku Group and conducts acquisitions and asset management for hospitality and real estate investments. Prior to joining Kiraku, he was with JPMorgan Securities Japan, where he was involved in the structuring and marketing of equity and fund derivative products. He has served as Director of Kiraku Asset Management since 2026.
